The Financial Impact of ERP Architecture on the Annual Cost of Business Change

Research organization IDC surveyed 167 business executives and found that the average annual cost of maintaining and updating ERP systems is upwards of US$1.2 million and can exceed US$4.1 million in extreme cases.

In this follow-up study, IDC asked the same questions of 77 users of  UNIT4 Agresso ERP software and compared the results with the findings of the initial study. It discovered that the reported average annual cost of change (internal and external costs) reported by UNIT4 customers are 55% less on average than the general population of ERP users.

"The survey shows clearly that beyond fit and value, companies must look for ERP systems that can provide the flexibility to continue to meet business needs with low investment of scarce company resources," IDC concludes.
