2016 Data Protection Benchmark Study

This report from Ponemon Institute, sponsored by Intel Security, looks at the reasons behind data loss prevention (DLP) across the globe and in different industries. The results are based on a global survey and research.

The definition of a security incident is an occurrence that requires security staff to analyze what transpired and determine if a policy violation has occurred or not. The average cost of a data breach ranges from US$80 to more than US$350 per record. 

Major organizations around the world are dealing with an average of 20 data loss incidents every day. 83% of organizations report that they are equipped to handle these threats, while 33% are still suffering from significant data loss.
