Korean CFO Takes on the Top Job at Iconic Company

Sang-Hoon Lee is leaving the post of CFO of Samsung Electronics, one of Korea's iconic companies, to become the company's board chairman, as recommended by the company's outside board members. Lee will assume the top post in March next year.

"In this time of transition, I look forward to SH's insight as CFO to help guide the Board and its new executive members," said Byung-Ki Lee, an independent director and Chairman of the Governance Committee of the Board. “In addition to overseeing the Company’s finances, SH was also in charge of running its global operations and these experiences will be a tremendous asset to the Board.”

Samsung also announced the appointment of three new co-CEOs, Kinam Kim, Hyunsuk (HS) Kim, and Dongjin (DJ) Koh, effective immediately.
