Joe Zhou promoted to CFO at Chinese search engine Sogou

New York-listed Chinese search engine firm Sogou announced recently the appointment of Joe Zhou as CFO.

According to the firm, James Deng, Sogou's existing CFO, who joined the Company in July 2017 to help guide Sogou through its IPO, will remain a financial advisor to the company for six months to ensure a smooth transition, and resume his former role at Inc., Sogou's controlling shareholder.

“Zhou has made great contributions to Sogou's business growth and capital markets initiatives over the past seven years, including playing an instrumental role in building the finance team after the company was carved out from Sohu in 2010," said  Xiaochuan Wang, CEO of Sogou.

Zhou joined Sogou in 2010 to oversee the company's finance function as general manager, and has served as deputy CFO since July 2017.

Before joining Sogou, he worked in various senior roles at PwC, as well as New Oriental Education & Technology Group and TAL Education Group, both U.S.-listed firms.
