How I Became an Accountant and CFO

Alice Wong is CFO and Company Secretary at Hong Kong Television Network Limited. "I did not intentionally pick accountancy or finance as a career," she says. "It just so happened that my dad is a business person, and when I was young, he started to teach me how to do bookkeeping and do all the books and records by myself. I found it very interesting to make the books balance."

Wong talks about her journey from accounting undergraduate to a Big Four auditor to an accountant in business -- and taking her ACCA qualification. "Be determined to get your accounting qualification," she counsels. "And do it earlier than later. You will benefit the most from that."
