Andrew Wong promoted to CFO after joining HKBN for 11 years

Hong Kong-listed Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN) recently announced the promotion of its current Financial Controller Andrew Wong to CFO.

"Andrew is our first ever "home-grown" CFO," said HKBN Group COO and Co-Owner NiQ. "He is the first among our very deep Talent bench to join our Management Committee base of fice CXOs, and we expect to see more make this jump in the coming few years,” said HKBN Group COO and Co-Owner NiQ. “As an accountant, Andrew has shown the rare ability to evolve beyond bean counting to being able to allocate beans to areas of highest returns for HKBN.”

In his new role, Wong will lead the financial team and oversee investor relations.

Wong joined HKBN in 2006 as a finance manager and later led the finance team through milestones such as the firm’s IPO in 2015, New World Telecom acquisition in 2016, and debt re-financing projects between 2013 and 2016, said HKBN.  Prior to HKBN, Wong was an auditor at KPMG.

He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
