Asia’s Best Paid CFOs: Finance Chiefs of India’s Reliance Industries, Hong Kong’s CK Hutchison, and China Biologic Products Top the 2017 List

India’s Alok Kumar Agarwal has emerged as Asia’s best paid finance chief in fiscal year 2017, earning the equivalent of US$7.8 million in total executive compensation. The Joint CFO of Reliance Industries, one of India’s leading conglomerates, was ranked 25th in last year’s league table, which is compiled for CFO Innovation by S&P Global Markets Intelligence.

Reliance Industries’ other Joint CFO, Srikanth Venkatachari, didn’t do as well, bringing home US$1.7 million in salary and bonuses to occupy the 47th slot. Venkatachari ranked No. 30 in the 2016 list.

The second-highest paid Asia CFO is Frank John Sixt, who heads the finance function of CK Hutchison Holdings. He was paid the equivalent of US$6.7 million in fiscal 2017. Third-ranked Ming Yang of China Biologic Products came in at US$6.1 million, followed by Christopher Lynch of Australia’s Rio Tinto.
