Spending on Online Advertising Surges in HK

Hong Kong businesses are now more confident in turning to online advertising, and Internet-based marketing campaigns have grown 36% in the first quarter compared with a year ago, reports the South China Morning Post.


Citing figures from Nielsen Online, the Post notes that the biggest spenders were those in the finance, entertainment, and computer and consumer electronics sectors. Companies in the finance sector spent HK$48 million on online advertising in the first quarter, while entertainment and the computer and consumer electronics sectors spent HK$42 million and HK$26 million, respectively.
