Singapore Launches S$250M Fund to Raise Productivity in Construction Sector

To raise productivity in the construction sector, Singapore's State for National Development and Education has launched a S$250-million fund that will allow builders to apply for as much as 80% funding for workforce training, technology adoption and scholarships, says the Straits Times.

"We need to move away from the business-as-usual mode and look hard into ways to enhance construction productivity,"  Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State for National Development and Education, told the Times.

The Times notes that for the past decade the building sector has achieved an average of 0.7% productivity growth on a yearly basis.
