Profitability and Cost Analysis: An Eye on Value

This report from ACCA and KPMG looks at how profitability and cost analysis should be developed for great business decision making. The findings are based on a global survey conducted in 2016.

Companies use cost allocation to analyse performance (cost, income and profit) across different business attributes, which provides insights to the true value drivers of the business.

Finance already understands the power of this insight, however, the survey suggests that there are three critical areas that needs to be improved: 1. Strengthen the quality and depth of insights, 2. Design and build a model for efficiency, and 3. Optimise the organisation model.
