Procurement: At a Digital Tipping Point?

This report from Deloitte talks about the development of procurement. The results are based on a global survey and market research.

The top four corporate priorities for Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) in 2016 show an appetite for growth but a slight shift back to a more conservative focus:

  1. Cost reduction
  2. New product/Market development
  3. Increasing cash flow
  4. Organic expansion

Procurement sees a continued drive for outsourcing, and the potential use of technology to standardize and speed up some of their mundane tasks. This frees up time for procurement to focus more on value added activities.
