China Going Global Investment Index

This report from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) concludes that by 2017 China will become a net investor. Chinese Outward Direct Investment (ODI) has grown at an average rate of 35% since 2005, and is today ranked 3rd on the global ranking (after the US and Japan).

To discover which countries are likely to attract Chinese ODI, the EIU used a robust and quantitative approach where 53 indicators, for example market size and natural resources, were measured.

The top ten countries in the China Going Global Investment Index are:
  1. USA (54.9)
