AsiaInfo to Buy Telecoms Software Company for US$733M

AsiaInfo Holdings has announced that it will buy telecoms software company Linkage Technologies International Holdings for US$733 million in cash and stock, reports the South China Morning Post.

 

The Post says that once the deal is completed in the first quarter or early quarter next year, AsiaInfo shareholders will own 64.2% of the merged company while Linkage's shareholders will control 35.8%.

 

"We will leverage our products and services, which range from system implementation and maintenance to high-value consulting, to capitalise on China's fast-growing telecommunications software industry," Steve Zhang,  president and chief executive of AsiaInfo, told the Post, adding that in "in addition to growing our business domestically, the merged company will explore new revenue drivers by looking abroad."
