Taiwan's Gov't Eyes Tax Breaks for Shipping Industry

In an attempt to boost the competitiveness of Taiwan's ports and shipping industry, the government plans to exempt foreign corporations from paying the business income tax when keeping and/or reprocessing their merchandise in any of the free ports, before subsequent re-shipping abroad, reveals Tax-News.com.

 

Tax-News.com also reports that the exemption will be given if a foreign company imports into Taiwan less than 10% of its total sales.
