New and existing SWIFT customers will soon have an easier way to use SWIFT.

The global provider of secure financial messaging services says Alliance Lite2 will make SWIFT-hosted connectivity possible for a majority of customers.

Expanding the capabilities of Alliance Lite, Alliance Lite2 will support much higher message volumes, all SWIFT message formats (MT and MX), and more automation options.

SWIFT will offer a wide range of additional services around Alliance Lite2, including automation assistance, training and support. And, customers will have the advantage of dealing directly with SWIFT as their single point of contact.

With these enhancements, Alliance Lite2 will provide a hosted connectivity that addresses the requirements of the vast majority of SWIFT customers and fully complements SWIFT’s on-premises Alliance interface portfolio.

Alliance Lite2 will eliminate the need for customers to maintain SWIFT equipment onsite, as the only SWIFT hardware required will be a secure USB token.

Pilot testing of Alliance Lite2 is scheduled to begin in April, with the go-live date set for July.

'Lifeline' Connectivity

In addition to providing ‘low-footprint’ SWIFT connectivity, Alliance Lite2 will also be offered to existing SWIFT customers as a reliable fall-back SWIFT connection.

In case of emergency, they would be able to continue using SWIFT via Alliance Lite2 until their standard SWIFT connection is back in operation.

Alliance Lite customers will be able to continue using their existing connectivity without changes, or they can choose to upgrade to Alliance Lite2. Alliance Lite has more than 500 customers worldwide.
