Straits Asia Resources Limited has appointed Shaun Day as its new CFO.

 

Day holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UWA and is a Chartered Accountant. He has over 15 years professional experience in a range of business and investment banking roles, with particular focus on the mining sector across this period. Over the past five years he has performed CFO and Treasury roles in ASX listed companies, with in-depth exposure to a number of bank and capital market financings. Shaun has been involved with Straits Asia since 2006 and was responsible for managing and arranging the recent $380m bank financing completed in January 2010.

 

Graeme Tivey, the current CFO, will continue within the senior management team and assume the new role of Executive General Manager, Business Systems and Company Secretary. As well as concentrating on his continuing role as Straits Asia’s Company Secretary, Graeme will manage key aspects of corporate governance and compliance within the Group and also focus on the further development of Straits Asia’s management and information systems.
