No Import Tax for Components of Major Equipment, Says Beijing

Imported components and raw materias needed to manufacture major technical equipment in China will be exempted from import taxes, according to a circular jointly issued by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Taxation and the General Administration of Customs.

 

The circular notes that manufactuers of technical equipment for environmental protection and resource utilization, emergency diesel generator sets, automatic luggage sorting systems used in airports and heavy die forging hydropresses are eligible for the exemption.

 

According to the China Daily, producers who imported components and raw materials for the eligible equipment since June 1 could get a tax refund.
