Atradius finds that many of the consumer electronics/ICT markets are still endangered by an uncertain global economy. Sales is expected to grow 4.3% worldwide, but because the industry is by nature entrepreneurial and innovative, that leads inexorably to steep competition, price erosion and low margins, even in a market with good growth prospects.

France – some structural weaknesses in all subsectors
Germany – growth will rebound in 2012
United Kingdom – the rebound levelled off in H2 of 2011
United States – retailers have to meet the challenge
China – large growth rates in all subsectors
India – high domestic demand drives growth
