Grant Thornton International has set up a new firm in Hong Kong which will work with the former's operations in the mainland where it has 65 partners and 1,500 staff, reports the South China Morning Post.
The new firm, Jingdu Tianhua Hong Kong, is headed by Daniel Lin Ching-yee and has five partners and 60 staff.
The Post earlier reported that Grant Thornton International's Hong Kong practice will cease operations by year-end amid lawsuits related to its former missing boss Gabriel Ricardo Dias-Azedo. The mid-sized accounting firm's partners and staff will be absorbed by another accounting company, BDO.
