Julius Baer, a Swiss private banking group, has appointed Frank Keller as new CFO Asia and Tobias Murer as new COO Hong Kong as of 1 January 2012. They succeed Ian Pollock who has previously held both positions and decided to leave the Bank by the end of the year to take up a new professional challenge in Singapore.

For the last two years Frank Keller has been Deputy CFO of Bank Julius Baer at its Zurich headquarters. In this position, he considerably contributed to the Bank’s financial management, in particular to its profitability management framework, the balance sheet management as well as to the development and execution of its long-term business strategy.

Prior to joining Julius Baer in 2009, Frank Keller spent eight years at Credit Suisse and ten years at UBS where he held various senior finance positions. In the course of his career, he was based in Singapore and Hong Kong for six years, so he is well acquainted with this region. Frank Keller will report directly to Dr Thomas R. Meier, CEO Asia of Bank Julius Baer.

Since 2009 Tobias Murer has been Deputy COO of Julius Baer Hong Kong, heading the Business Management units. In this position, he has been strongly involved in building and running the Bank’s back office in Hong Kong, supporting the dynamic growth of the business. Before joining Julius Baer in 2007, Tobias Murer worked for GAM Switzerland as a Private Client Manager.

During his two years with Julius Baer, Ian Pollock has been instrumental in facilitating the Bank’s growth in its second home market Asia with sound financials and an effective infrastructure. Among other things, he contributed to the upgrade of Julius Baer Hong Kong to full branch status and to the set-up of the Bank’s representative office in Shanghai which is scheduled to open at the beginning of December.
