Former AXA CEO of Asia-Pacific Joins Telstra as CFO

Former AXA CEO of Asia-Pacific, Andrew Penn, will be joining Telstra on March 1, 2012 taking over the CFO position from John Stanhope. 

 

Stanhope announced his retirement in June after 40 years of service. He oversaw the shareholder vote on the $11 billion Telstra deal with NBN in October and he will be leaving his post at the end of the year.

 

Mark Hall will be the interim CFO until Penn officially assumes the role.

 

The former AXA Asia-Pacific head has had experience as chief executive and CFO over his 30 year career as well as a variety of roles during his 20-year tenure at AXA. Penn became CEO of investment and insurance group's Asia-Pacific arms in 2006.

 

The new CFO will report to Telstra CEO, David Thodey, and will be based in Melbourne.
