The surge in Internet usage in China is expected to boost revenues from online advertisements, reports
the China Daily.
Renren.com, one of the nation's biggest social networking sites (SNS), saw its advertisement income exceeding 100 million yuan ($14.62 million) in the third quarter this year. The site has more than 150 million users.
The Daily says that giant companies such as McDonald's, Mercedes-Benz and Pepsico have embarked on marketing campaigns on Chinese SNS for sales promotions.
According to the Daily, creative and clever messages, embedded in online social games and advertising, is key to attracting users.
